WIDER OBJECTIVE:
- Build the research capacity of Philippine law schools.
- Bring Philippine and EU law schools closer as a way of sharing the EU values of respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights enshrined in article 2 of the Treaty of the European Union.
SPECIFIC PROJECT OBJETIVE/S:
- To enhance the curricular offerings of the Partner Country HEIs through creating new subjects in the Juris Doctor/Bachelor of Laws and Master’s programs that have research components that are consistent with the Bologna process.
- To enhance the curricular offerings of the Partner Country HEIs by updating subjects in human rights and the rule of law, comparative law, and/or regional integration in their Juris Doctor/Bachelor of Laws programs and/ Master’s programs in a manner consistent with the Bologna process.
- To build the multilingual research capacity of the Partner Country HEIs through interest in and facility with Spanish.

- Activity 2.34. Final meeting/course/conference at the University of Málaga. The Project will end with a final meeting at the University of Malaga to coincide with an International Conference on the Modernisation of law in the Philippines. These events will be celebrated on January 2024. This final act of the Project is transversal and coincides with the programmed activities such as 4.7 and 5.17

- Activity 4.5 Meeting of the Dissemination committee leader with the responsables of the institutions participating in the Project Calesa to evaluate strategies to promote and ensure the dissemination of the Project. This activity will take place in July 2023 in Dublin, in parallel to activities 5.4,5.7 and 5.16
- Activity 4.6. Conference on “Common Law as a model for the Philippines” to take place in Dublin at the University College of Dublin on July 2023.(4 days). This activity corresponds with Activity 2.33
- Activity 4.7. Final meeting/course/Malaga Conference. at the University of Málaga. The Project will end with a final meeting at the University of Malaga to coincide with an International Conference on the Modernisation of law in the Philippines. These events will be celebrated on January 2024. This final act of the Project is transversal and coincides with the programmed activities such as 2.34 and 5.17. This is a conference in Malaga among the Partner Institutions to present the final CALESA reports. The milestones/measurable indicators are the submission, review, finalization, reproduction and distribution of the final reports.

Meeting with the Faculty members of the activities of WP2 to evaluate the implementation of the seminaries. This activity will take place in September 2022.(3 days).

- Activity 5.20: AdMU: Celebration of the Women’s Month (+ International Women’s Day by the Ateneo Human Rights Center (AHRC) Urduja Women’s desk and the students of Gender and the Law. The celebration generally consists of 1.) Forum on a specific issue involving women and gender; Exhibit on a theme adopted by the class for the Women’s month – stays for one week in the building for the public to see and a solidarity night – celebrating women’s month. March 2021.

- Activity 5.22: AdMU: Webinar on Intersectionality of Discrimination (Women, reace and class) sponsored by the Anti-Discrimination class and also another webinar on Sexual Harassment, Safe Spaces and Code of Decorum of the University as one of the programs of the AHRC Urduja Women’s desk in commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. June 2021.
- Activity 5.23: USA: Seminar / Webinar / Conference / “Inclusivity Through Gender Neutral Writing and Lecturing for Legal and Academic Fields”. vocacy of a cause or study, whether in law or academia, is primarily a field of persuasion of its audience. The use of inflammatory, degrading, and sexist language would distract from the message we wish to share. Further, ever growing in our modern global society is the use of gender neutral language as a form inclusivity and a vehicle to connect to wide array of audiences whose gender identity, sexuality, and sex may differ. Mindfulness, conscientiousness, and sensitivity of these differences would create an inclusive society and its corresponding laws. Thus, a gender neutral language in writings and lectures would encapsulate these ideals. June 2021.
- 5.24: U.DEUSTO: Seminar/ Webinar of the project “Inclusion of the gender perspective in teaching”. Research on gender in the field of teaching has shown that gender bias is present in the classroom. For example, male and female students do not participate equally in the classroom, teachers may have gender biases when grading students, some teachers and students still use sexist language, etc. This activity aims to offer teachers tools to promote equality in the classroom (e.g. inclusive language, female references, blind evaluations, etc). - 5.25: AdZU: Activity “The women, the law and the society”. Activity with students within the framework of the elective subject entitled “Social Legislation and Agrarian Reform”.. This activity shall be attended by all the law students and faculty of ADZU College of Law, women coming from the different barangays of Zamboanga City, representatives of the City Government of Zamboanga (the City Mayor is also a woman), representatives from the Philippine National Police Region IX – Zamboanga City and it shall also be open to public. December 2021
- 5.26: UMA: Within the framework of the subject “Women and the penal system” (Criminology degree) coordinated by the assistant professor Fátima Cisneros Avila. Seminar on the operation of courts for violence against women. Invited lecturer: Flor de Torres Porras. Delegate Prosecutor for Violence against Women of the Superior Prosecutor’s Office of Andalusia. Approximate date of celebration: January 2022
